Advanced Admin Order Search Documentation

    Settings

Search source and indexing guidance for Advanced Admin Order Search.

    Settings

Use settings to control what order data the plugin indexes and when historical order data should be rebuilt.

    Search Sources

Enable the sources your staff actually use during support and fulfillment work:

    • SKU fragments for product and variation lookup
    • Tracking numbers for shipment investigations
    • Billing fields for customer and company lookup

After changing source coverage, run a rebuild so historical orders use the new source set.

    Background Indexing

The plugin keeps search data fresh through Action Scheduler. New or updated orders are indexed in the background instead of forcing every order action to wait on a heavy synchronous search update.

    Rebuild Historical Orders

    Run a rebuild when:

    • the plugin is installed for the first time
    • search sources are changed
    • old orders were imported
    • support reports missing results for older orders

Large stores should expect rebuild work to run in batches. Keep Action Scheduler healthy until the queue finishes.

    Troubleshooting

    • New orders are not appearing: check Action Scheduler for stalled or failed indexing actions.
    • Old orders are missing: run a historical rebuild.
    • SKU matches are incomplete: confirm SKU indexing is enabled and the relevant products or variations have SKU data.
    • Tracking matches are incomplete: confirm tracking values exist in the order metadata or notes the plugin indexes.
    • Search feels too broad: narrow enabled sources to the fields your staff actually need.
